  2. Maintaining a constant practice of meditation can help you break some dependencies by having greater self-control and being more aware of those things that lead you to have addictive behaviors.

    In a study with 19 recovering alcoholics, it was found that those who meditated had more control over cravings for alcohol and the stress that this causes them.

    Also, meditation can help you control food cravings, or those habits of eating too much. Through many studies of mindfulness meditation or what is now known as conscious feeding or mindful feeding, it helps you reduce eating emotionally because you have less binge eating.
